Brightspeed has an exciting opportunity for a Platform Program Manager, Operational Readiness specializing in providing business stakeholders with an assurance that platform and process functionality integration are in a state to deliver on commitments and achieve their goals to join our rapidly growing team! As an individual contributor, you will be responsible for, Operational Readiness planning and execution, Operational Readiness Testing, business requirements verification, Go/No Go management, and deployment support. You will work closely with IT and Business Operations teams to ensure alignment of processes and visions. You will report to the Senior Manager, Product & Platform Innovation – Operational Readiness.
As the Platform Program Manager – Operational Readiness your responsibilities will include:
- Help develop a scalable and robust cross-domain end-to-end (E2E) transformation workflow management process including design, implementation, execution, monitoring, and quality assurance for Consumer and Business
- Drive long-term modernization and technical advancement planning for Product & Platform Innovation programs
- Support program operational deployment activities including T-40 planning, deployment logistics, stakeholder support and readiness communications
- Lead the domain to develop and drive testing related strategies, requirements, operational readiness and implementation in alignment with business strategies
- Direct and develop business specific test cycles and cases that provide “Day in the Life” based readiness testing scenarios
- Define operational business readiness stage gate criteria for activities including: minimal viable product (MVP), production testing, first office application (FOA) and general availability (GA)
- Direct comprehensive end-to-end (E2E) testing spanning from Buy Flow to Billing, meticulously documenting daily outcomes including pass, fail, exceptions, defect handling, and retesting ensuring a seamless flow in both User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production environments, meeting program deadlines
- Chair the daily end-to-end (E2E) testing sessions, facilitating active participation from all essential stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs)
- Take the lead in crafting daily testing readouts and executive summaries by facilitating discussions with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment, and delivering cohesive information to the Executive team
- Define and effectively communicate any significant risks and dependencies to the leadership team, ensuring clarity and transparency
- Support application E2E, UAT, BVT, ORT release scheduling and system integration
- Support program deployment activities including data migration, blackout periods, data validation application restore, shakeout testing, stakeholder notifications and communications
- Support testing in existing cloned and new platforms for Brightspeed Fiber, Brightspeed Now, Legacy Copper, Legacy GPON & QF for Consumer and Business including but not limited to:
- ServiceNow Suite: BOSS OM, BOSS AX, BOSS SA, BOSS TS, BOSS Dispatch; IQ Geo, AMS; Ensemble, eShop, MARTENS; Automate, IMPROV; Optius/Odin; LoopQual; Open Switchgate; Technician Tools; POTS; Voice+; Ring Central; TIRKS; Network EMS; NIBS; OmniVue; OTTO Lite; LOSDB / CLONES; CATT CLLI Code Tools
- Creation and tracking of test plans; escalate and track defects; document progress and prepare status reports (metrics, summaries, etc.) to be communicated in both formal and informal settings
- Assist in ensuring that testing is executed with high quality and meets user acceptance criteria
- Assist in domain JIRA management including Product Owner partnership, user story oversight and management, PI planning prioritization, completion tracking
- Define and develop a comprehensive reporting strategy for JIRA to meet the needs of various stakeholders
- Collaborate with business leads and program managers to understand reporting requirements and KPIs
- Support design and development of custom reports and dashboards within JIRA and Power BI to visualize program metrics, progress and trends
- Analyze program data stored in JIRA to identify patterns, trends and areas of improvement
- Demonstrated exceptional presentation, interpersonal, relationship development, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to present at the senior most level in the business
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Project / Program Management, Business, or Software Development
- 5+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross team programs
- 4+ years of strong technical experience, preferably in telecommunications or software development working with copper and fiber networks
- Successful teamwork experience and demonstrated leadership abilities
- Must be able to read, understand and apply technical standards
- Ability to translate technical terms into plain language
- Experience working in Agile and/or Kanban software development environment
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
- Experience creating C Suite level presentation materials
- Quick learner with excellent written & verbal communication and analytical problem-solving skills
- Solid organizational skills with attention to detail, context switching, and ability to cope with tight deadlines
- JIRA Knowledge
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Proficient in program planning and life cycle development tools
BONUS POINTS FOR:
- Master’s Degree and / or technical certifications in relevant field
- Intimate knowledge of telecommunications, fiber optics technology and/or delivering a stellar customer service experience
- Deep familiarity with fiber technology
- Certified Project / Program Management Professional (PMP)-PM or Project / Program Management Degree
- Basic knowledge of SmartSheets
