About the job

At Roofr, we’re obsessed with our customers. We constantly gather feedback to shape, prioritize, and launch the products they truly need. That’s what makes Roofr’s CRM special. We started by building essential sales tools like aerial roof measurements and digital sales proposals. But when our customers asked for a simple, affordable way to manage and scale their entire businesses, we listened. So, we created a CRM that connects these solutions—along with payments, material ordering, and more—into a seamless, powerful platform. With a clear roadmap ahead, we’re excited to continue expanding and leading the market with innovative products.

We have an amazing culture, strong financials, and best-in-class company metrics. It’s an exciting time to be part of an extraordinary startup that is already successful, yet still early enough to offer its team significant growth, equity, and the opportunity to make a real impact.

Roofr is expanding rapidly, with ambitious plans to double both our revenue and headcount in 2025 across Canada, the US, and internationally. To support this growth, we’re looking to strengthen our People Operations team by hiring a Senior People Operations Manager. This high-energy, high-empathy person will play a pivotal role in building and scaling the organization that supports our most important asset—our people.

As a key member of the PeopleOps team, this role will fill critical gaps in our current structure and ensure seamless people operations. The Senior People Operations Manager will partner closely with the Senior Director of People and Talent to oversee essential HR functions like employee relations, performance management, compliance, and learning and development, all while driving company growth and fostering a positive employee experience.

What you’ll get to do:

  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees on performance improvement and employee relations matters.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies across all regions.
  • Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees and managers, ensuring programs are aligned with business goals.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of People and Talent to ensure competitive compensation and benefits packages while supporting annual salary reviews and benchmarking exercises to maintain equity across roles and geographies.
  • Oversee the implementation of employee feedback initiatives, including surveys and focus groups, and analyze the results to drive actionable improvements.
  • Help plan and execute virtual and in-person events that celebrate our achievements and strengthen community ties within a remote work environment.
  • Collaborate with the PeopleOps team on strategic initiatives such as DEI programs and retention efforts.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Worked in People Operations at a company of a similar side (about 150-300 employees) with an entity in Canada and a big presence in the US (we're going to maintain about a 80/20 employee split in Canada vs. rest-of-world) and have experience leading a team where colleagues can be separate in both time zones and physical space.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with senior business leaders, managers, and peers.
  • High energy, high empathy, and are clearly a cultural champion – both as a role model for our values and by leading cross-functional initiatives to strengthen our culture as we grow.
  • The ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, using wise judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment law and best practices in HR.
  • Proven track record of managing employee relations and performance management processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, remote environment and manage multiple priorities.

Bonus points:

  • Experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., Rippling) and HR data analytics.
  • Experience with DEI initiatives and programs.
  • Background in tech or SaaS environments.

You will be a great fit if you are:

  • A dedicated coach who finds nothing more fulfilling than contributing to a group's success and helping leaders develop.
  • A fervent collaborator, an empathetic listener, and a deliberate, data-driven decision-maker.
  • An exceptional leader known for your unwavering commitment to ethical principles and sound moral judgment.
  • Deeply responsible and accountable, with precise attention to detail while maintaining the context of the big picture.
