As a Financial Analyst in the retail furniture sector, your role goes beyond crunching numbers—you'll be at the heart of decisions that shape product pricing, inventory control, and profit optimization. Retail is a dynamic industry, requiring in-depth knowledge of consumer trends, seasonality, and supply chain fluctuations. The Financial Analyst will work closely with the CFO to provide insights that drive the company's financial strategies, ensuring profitability while supporting long-term growth objectives. By analyzing sales performance, forecasting demand, and budgeting for product sourcing, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining operational efficiency and financial health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring data accuracy and timely reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of comprehensive budgets, including operational costs, sales forecasts, and financial projections, aligning with seasonal sales cycles.
- Study market conditions, sales data, and consumer behavior to identify trends impacting pricing, inventory levels, and overall financial performance.
- Evaluate the profitability of product lines and categories, identifying opportunities to improve margins and reduce costs without compromising quality.
- Provide financial oversight on inventory, analyzing turnover rates, stock levels, and the financial impact of product aging and obsolescence.
- Collaborate with the CFO to support long-term financial strategies, including expansion plans, pricing adjustments, and capital investments.
- Conduct sensitivity analyses to forecast potential financial risks due to market fluctuations, supply chain disruptions, or seasonal shifts.
- Work with sales, marketing, and procurement teams to align financial insights with business operations and product development initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master's degree or CFA certification is a plus).
- 3-5 years of financial analysis experience in retail, e-commerce, or a similar consumer-focused industry.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budget analysis.
- Strong understanding of retail industry dynamics, including supply chain management, inventory turnover, and pricing strategies.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a strategic mindset.
- Ability to handle multiple projects with competing priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
Compensation
- Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000, commensurate with experience.
